Now for WA:

15JUL2009   Celebrating at Pee Wees restaurant right on the bay.  Half way mark!  Nice to be out of the cycling gear and feel a little more human and clean.  Hard to wash the red dust out completely.  Gourmet food; even whole baby crabs fried and you eat the shell and all!

Good buddy for the ride is Tom; Tom is 70 from Mission Beach and extreme fitness adventurer.  He paddled a kayak down the Amazon river, lived with the blow dart natives there, walked the Pilbaras,  sailed in the Hobart/Sydney yacht race and delivers yachts around Oz.

Off out to the prison tree... yes, riding on our day off!  But first I believe I can get a real coffee across the road from the caravan park at the diamonds and pearls shop.  In the early days the boab tree held prisoners overnight before walking them to Broome, a distance of 200kms.

Rode 150kms yesterday with a tailwind so was able to sit on an average of 30kph and wasn't too tired after a shower to ride out to the wharf to watch the swirling yellow waters of a 10knot tide rushing up into the Fitzroy River late yesterday.  Lots of feed for the saltwater crocs!

!7AUG2009  Monday

Brrrr have hit winter in the SW.  Cold windy wet rides into Perth and Mandurah where both mayors sent us off and at Bunbury tonight at a rotary billet and already had a short snooze after a shower to warm up then off to a rotary meeting to give yet another short chat...not camping till we hit the Nullabor.

Moora on the wildflowers were great as everywhere from Billabong has had good rain.

The pic was taken a lot further north with my mulla mulla bushes.

Must be at least 2/3 the way back to Melb..for a holiday!!
